MoneyWhat is Tithing?

Tithing is the voluntary setting aside of a portion of one's gross income, 10%, for Kingdom work out of gratitude for Christ's redeeming love. The motivation for tithing is love out of gratitude.

Tithing is a universal Biblical principal that the first and best is God's. Jesus renders forceful approval of the tithe, which evident in Luke 11:42 and Matthew 23:23. After starting to tithe, many people find it possible to devote even more to God's work as they experience the joy of Jesus' word, "It's more blessed to give than receive." Tithing often leads to more careful spending of the remaining 90% because most families have to create a budget to meet all obligations.

Tithing helps a family have the satisfaction of knowing that they are a worthy partner with God in bringing the gospel of preaching, teaching, healing and serving to many needy. Tithing is a partnership with the Almighty; returning some of the substance that He has entrusted to you to help accomplish His work.

Your credit union is designed to incorporate this extremely important principal. The mission...to advance the Kingdom.

The Bible records numerous accounts of man tithing to God. The tithe principle is this; "He gives unto us, we give back to Him one-tenth of all that He has blessed us with."
