Church Financing


Our lenders understand that Churches are no longer simply a place to meet on Sunday morning. Today they have become a place where you can worship, fellowship, and educate. Churches empower the community. By offering conventional and non-conventional funding alternatives, we are able to secure financing for church related projects, including daycares, schools, community centers, etc.

Our brokerage fees are among the lowest in the industry and pay out of loan proceeds at closing. We are either compensated when the loan is funded, or not at all, in which case we attribute our time and effort to serving the Kingdom. BHW is committed to providing you with responsible and competitive financing options.

Our providers lend from $250,000 to $300 million for 1 to 30 year terms.

  • 1) The purpose of the application and a description of the project:

    • a. Refinance, purchase, land acquisition, on-site expansion or any combination of these
    • b. Approximate loan amount
    • c. General description of current and future building phases
    • d. Summary of proposed sources for project funding

  • 2) Financial Statements

    • a. Refinance, purchase, land acquisition, on-site expansion or any combination of these
    • b. Approximate loan amount
    • c. General description of current and future building phases
    • d. Summary of proposed sources for project funding

  • 3) Church History

    • a. Year founded
    • b. Denomination, if any
    • c. Senior pastor's biography
    • d. Current schedule of worship services
    • e. Three year history of attendance
    • f. Brief description of location and church mission
    • g. Be prepared to provide color picture of the inside and outside of the property

  • Things to consider when applying for a loan:

    • • Number of members (100 or more is ideal)
    • • Can we afford the payments? Mortgage payments should represent 33% or less of the church's gross annual income.
    • • Most lenders will provide a loan for 75-80% of the property's value. If there is not sufficient equity in the property, the lender will require the church to provide the remaining 20-25% when making a purchase.
